Mr. Kittipat Dechapahul (right), Director, Central Correctional Institution for Drug Addicts, and, Mrs. Kanjarat Kaewchan (center right), Professional Nurse Specialist in the capacity as Acting Director, Central Women Correctional Institution, were presented with donated magazines and books from DMG Books, KTC management, KTC Staff and the journalists. These printed materials will be distributed to “Prompunya Libraries” at more than 147 correctional facilities across Thailand for the educational benefit of inmates. Ms. Podchaneeporn Chamnanpakdee (center left), Vice President - Human Resource, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, represented all donors in the presentation of these magazines and books at Central Women Correctional Institution in Ladyao District recently.
“Prompunya Libraries” serve a specific purpose of providing information services to the target groups who are the officers and the inmates at cotyrrectional facilities. This is consistent with the mission of Department of Corrections in the reconditioning of inmates as sound citizens of the society. In addition to the direct duty of academic, educational and informative services which contribute to the delivery of basic, professional and ethical trainings, “Prompunya Libraries” fulfill the recreational needs of the inmates and provide a link with the outside world so that they may be aware of relevant developments in the various circles.
