As demand for short-haul travel continues to grow, Thai travelers are increasingly looking for destinations that are easy to reach, convenient to plan, and rich in experiences. Macao has emerged as one of the destinations benefiting from this trend, offering a blend of cultural heritage, gastronomy, entertainment, lifestyle attractions, and family-friendly activities within a short travel distance.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Representative in Thailand has partnered with Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) to launch the “Macao Wonder” campaign, offering travel and lifestyle privileges across air travel, accommodation, dining, attractions, tour packages, and spending benefits. The campaign is designed to encourage more Thai travelers to visit Macao while enhancing the overall travel experience through partner offers and KTC cardmember privileges.

According to MGTO, 185,963 Thai visitors traveled to Macao in 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 38.1%. The increase was in line with Macao’s broader tourism recovery, with the city welcoming 40.07 million visitor arrivals during the year, up 14.7%.

Ms. Uracha Jaktaranon, General Manager of the Macao Government Tourism Office Representative in Thailand, said the campaign will help strengthen MGTO’s engagement with Thai travelers through KTC’s cardmember base, which includes consumers with strong interest in travel and lifestyle experiences.

“The campaign reflects our efforts to showcase the many dimensions of Macao, from cultural heritage and local neighborhoods to contemporary attractions, entertainment, and family-oriented experiences. We hope to inspire more Thai visitors to discover different aspects of Macao and contribute to tourism spending in the destination,” she said.

Ms. Varitta Phatanarajta, Head of Credit Card Marketing Division at KTC, said Macao has continued to gain traction among KTC credit cardmembers, in line with broader tourism trends.

“In 2025, the number of KTC credit cardmembers traveling to Macao increased by 39%, while card spending in the destination rose by 27%. Dining led the growth at 85%, followed by hotels and transportation, both increasing by 74%,” she said.

Under the “Macao Wonder” campaign, KTC and MGTO have brought together a wide range of travel-related offers covering flights, hotels, dining, attractions, tour packages, and cashback promotions. Participating partners include Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, and Air Macau, as well as travel platforms Klook and Traveloka. The campaign also features tour packages from Weekend Tours & Cargo Service and World Explorer, together with benefits from Melco Group and Sands Resorts Macao properties. Additional privileges include access to Plaza Premium Lounge at Macao International Airport and cashback offers for eligible spending made with KTC Mastercard and KTC UnionPay credit cards.

The campaign runs from May 15 to November 15, 2026. Eligible KTC credit cardmembers can enjoy campaign benefits subject to terms and conditions.
