Mrs. Jinda Sridhanabutr(center to the left)Senior Vice President- Human Resources, “KTC” orKrungthai Card Public Company Limited, states, “The spread of COVID-19 has caused the National Blood Center to become unable to sufficiently distribute blood to hospitals. This is a result of a shortage of blood donors everywhere nationwide and cancellations of blood donation activities by organisations located in disease control areas. The blood supply was reduced by as much as 50 percent, however; patients who were admitted to various hospitals, especially at many large hospitals, have a very high demand for blood for use in surgery. This includes paediatric patients with blood diseases that require large and consistent volumes of blood. For these reasons, KTC collaborated with The National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, to organise the“Donate Blood During the New COVID-19 Wave”activity.Under COVID-19 preventative measures, KTC’s Board of Directors and employees collectively donated a total of 20,700 ccs of blood to alleviate the reserve blood shortage crisis. The event recently took place at the Main Conference Room, B1 floor, UBC II building on Sukhumvit 33 road.
