Over the past 10 years, the incidence of breast cancer among women has increased every year. Patients are getting chemotherapy and radiation treatment at higher rates. Cancer is currently ranked as the second most common cancer among women in Thailand.
Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, recognizes the importance of breast cancer treatment and has been improving and developing it with an emphasis on multidisciplinary treatment, working with surgeons, pathologists, and radiotherapy physicians for comprehensive examination and treatment. This includes pathological examination, radiography, surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and the provision of suitable modern and efficient tools.
The operation of "Queen Sirikit Center" can accommodate a large number of patients who are treated by knowledgeable personnel who can improve treatment techniques that deliver objective results and quickly serve patients. It is a training resource for doctors and medical personnel, both nationally and internationally, and a treatment center of Thailand that is to be proud of that will rival the world's most famous centers.
This is according to the wish of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit who desires the "Queen Sirikit Center", Chulalongkorn Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, to operate as a refuge for women, especially the impoverished to get the best treatment possible.
