Cancer is a serious public health problem in Thailand. The number of cancer cases and deaths increases by about 5% every year, with an average of 80,000 deaths from cancer per year, and about 150,000 new cases per year. The efficiency of current treatment is not very high and can cause side effects at a high rate. It is, therefore, necessary to develop innovations.
Getting treatment or an early diagnosis of cancer will help patients have a better chance of survival. For these reasons, research is the cornerstone of finding useful diagnostics for the prevention, and treatment of cancer. It also increases the chances of curing the lives of many cancer patients without letting them suffer and ultimately end their lives. However, various research operations are unable to progress due to the high budget that is required along with insufficient growth of donations.
On this note, KTC invites cardmembers to support the operations of the Thai Red Cross Society to help fellow human beings have a better quality of life.
