KTC  invited professors from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) to  join the event hosted by KTC PR Press Club: The Secret of Phra Nakhon in the episode of “Rerng Phra Nakhon Talon Siam Araya” (Travel Joyfully through the Civilization of Siam). This event was held to preserve the legacy of Thai history by sharing useful knowledge  to journalists and lecturers ,who could pass on knowledge beyond classroom to students and  general public .  This activity was held in supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Ms. Duangkamol Intrapram, Vice President – Treasury & Sustainability, “KTC” or Krungthai said that “KTC held KTC PR Press Club: The Secret of Phra Nakhon in the episode of “Rerng Phra Nakhon Talon Siam Araya” for the third time this year.  We invited lecturers from the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (Wang Nang Leung) to join the trip and get first-hand experiences from real locations and stories told by the expert, Mr. Thanat Bhumarush, Secretary of Thonburi Community Historical Information Center, and history expert.  We hope that lecturers can pass on knowledge, stories, useful information of historical events to their students for the benefit of education, which is an objective of KTC as a learning organization to support lifelong learning in line with KTC’s Sustainable Development goals in social dimension.”

“We have a chance to go back in time and explore the civilization of our nation and understand how Siam was developed in the reigns of King Rama V and King Rama VI with The Secret of Phra Nakhon in the episode of “Rerng Phra Nakhon Talon Siam Araya.”  The event started at “Vajiravudhanusorn Hall” to learn about King Rama VI’s duties in developing the nation and the period when Siam was modernized, the story of “Luang Pradit Batuka” who made shoes for King Rama VI and “Seng Chong Shop”, a local leather shop opened in King Rama V’s reign, exploring how to make “Nam Prung”, Thai classical perfume extracted from various kinds of flowers at “The Raweekanlaya Bangkok” where was once a house of Phra Nom Tat Peungboon Na Ayutthaya, who was King Rama VI’s nanny when he was a child.  Visiting “Ban Pi Boon Tham”, where King Rama VI once stayed, a western-style building influenced by the two eras, the one and only building decorated with beautiful paintings about Ramayana painted by an Italian painter.  The last destination was “Bangkok Railway Station”, where we learn about the history of Thai transportation, the modern architecture of those days, and the origin as well as reasons behind this building in order to develop the international civilization of the country amidst the social, economic, and political context.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnat Iam-sumang, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts (Wang Nang Leng) Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon said, “RMUTP is pleased to be a part of this wonderful activities.  Some locations have not been known or accessible.  KTC took us to explore new dimensions which we can apply this experience to teach our students such as discovering new areas for data collection and relaying our history and culture for the preservation and continuation of national arts and culture.”

Dr. Chaiwut Chairerk, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts (Wang Nang Leng) Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon told that “I’m very impressed by KTC’s activities.  KTC selected each location very well.  We can apply useful and interesting information to teach or take our students to follow KTC’s activities and preserve Thai history.”
