KTC partnered with Play La Ploen Boutique Resort and The Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phetchaburi Provincial Office, to broaden perspectives on sustainable Thai tourism in the Kaeng Krachan area, a natural world heritage site. This initiative is aligned with the trend of tourists seeking new and diverse experiences, such as health-promoting or environmentally-friendly tourism. KTC and its partners offer exclusive promotions for cardmembers who love relaxing in natural surroundings and learning local wisdom, and in turn, create new travel experiences through Edutainment Tourism.
Miss Erblap Sriprirom, Director of The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Phetchaburi Provincial Office, stated that the highlight of Phetchaburi is the convenience of travel. It boasts numerous tourist attractions that are popular destinations, and the province has been actively promoting its tourism to establish itself as a brand that is a sustainable and sought-after tourist destination. The province is dedicated to providing happiness and meaningful travel experiences, promoting sustainable tourism, and supporting both domestic and international tourists seeking new forms of tourism. These include health-focused tourism rooted in local wisdom, Dhamma and nature-based (Wellness Phetchaburi), food tourism that immerses visitors in the history and culture of Phetchaburi through tastings, visits to production sites, and cultural experiences (Gastronomy trip), as well as environmentally friendly tourism (Low Carbon travel), among others. The overarching goal is to position Phetchaburi tourism as a sustainable destination across economic, social, environmental, and governance dimensions, aligning with TAT's policy of promoting the Sustainable Tourism Goals: 17 STGs.
Mrs. Pornthip Asdathorn, Managing Director of Play La Ploen Boutique Resort Company Limited, noted that current travel trends and tourist behaviors are evolving towards more creativity and a quest for new travel experiences. Play La Ploen sees the potential and fascination of the Phetchaburi area, specifically Kaeng Krachan District, and has expanded operations from Buriram to Phetchaburi, introducing Play La Ploen The Journey. This expansion further develops the resort as an educational tourist attraction focusing on biodiversity and nature in the Kaeng Krachan World Heritage Forest, incorporating health tourism. The resort uses top-quality ingredients and various herbs to create food menus with medicinal properties. Sustainability is also a key focus, particularly in knowledge creation and experience sharing through the lens of Edutainment Tourism. Play La Ploen’s emphasis is on tourism that connects with neighboring areas, striving to provide diverse experiences for tourists of all ages, including youth groups, teenagers, family groups, and those in retirement to inspire and promote learning through tourism with the guiding concept of "Travel Happily and Have Fun Learning." Various activities are curated to connect with local community wisdom and culture, contributing to a great creation of sustainability in tourism.
